Today's Around
the World update has exciting news for all friends of Awana, and we're
grateful to count you as one!
Touching
the untouchable in India!
Awana leader Joseph
leads two clubs in the leper colonies of India. Because of him, 172 children
who might otherwise be forgotten and neglected receive the good news through
his dynamic ministry.
After attending
Bible school, Joseph felt called to give some of the neediest children
the love he never received as a youngster, so today he and his family
live and minister among the lepers.

Faithful
in attendance and growth
Bethel Church in Uppada,
Andhra Pradesh, continues to grow. 190 children attended the first meeting
at the church in June 2005. Now they have 390!
Awana meets at this
church seven days a week for two hours each day. Some 50 to 60 children
faithfully attend the daily Awana club meetings. Here they are spiritually
and physically fed as a ministry of mercy and compassion. So far, 50
adults who were formerly Hindus have become believers as a result of their
children coming to the Awana program.

Brazil: Jefferson transformed!
Twelve-year-old
Jefferson was left home alone with his seven siblings most of the time,
and he fell prey to gangs encouraging him to sniff glue and prodding him
to move into worse drugs.
Then Jefferson was
invited to an Awana club, and he was saved from gang life and the wages
of sin! Today he has trusted Christ as Savior! Helping kids like Jefferson,
Awana has experienced 26-percent club growth in Brazil.

Ecuador: An answer to prayer
We
thank God that the funding for our new administrative offices in Ecuador
is complete. And thank you to all of our Awana friends for praying and
standing with us financially. This new office will enable us to grow substantially
in Ecuador, reaching the poorest of the poor with the life-giving message
of Jesus Christ and the hope He brings.

Nepal: Hope in a war-torn nation
A
nine-year civil war in Nepal has left a country torn and broken. More
than 12,000 people have died, including children. Awana is growing here
and bringing hope to the hurting. In late 2005, 500 Nepalese children
attended an Awana event, and many made a decision to trust Jesus for their
salvation!

United States: Another way to raise funds internationally
Every year in the Sparks club
at a church in the east Virginia region of the United States, the children
(Sparkies) provide full support for one needy club through Adopt-a-Club.
This year, they were able to use their hard-earned Sparky
Dollars for Adopt-a-Club. These “dollars” usually used for
toys at the Sparky Store were given by 82 percent of the children to help
someone else. Each Sparky Dollar was then turned into cash by Awana leaders.
Thank you
for caring about kids around the world!
We are grateful for
your partnership in discipling children all over the world with the Word
of God! [Remember: You can always get news and updates online. Visit any
time at www.awana.org.]
