Like any good sports ministry or Awana club, High
Power Soccer relies on volunteers to share their time and talents to
make the ministry happen. Here are some places where volunteers can
plug in to High Power Soccer:
Director The director is the key player for a smooth-running
High Power Soccer Camp. The director does everything from doing
the initial planning. to training the volunteers, to overseeing
the daily activities. But don't worry. You'll find all you need
to know in the Camp Director Manual. It provides plenty
of information and support! And remember, you don't have to do
it all yourself — just form a team to help you!
Head Coach This team player oversees everything that
happens on the field. He or she gets the field and equipment
ready for the day and directs the soccer skill stations and soccer
games. The head coach trains the other coaches in soccer basics
and lends a helping hand on the field when they need it. The Coach
Training Manual provides lots of helpful information.
Coaches The coaches are the mentors for each camper.
They lead the small group discussions about the Bible lesson,
reinforce the gospel message throughout the week, teach the soccer
skills and help referee games. We recommend two coaches work
with each team of 10 to 12 campers. You don't have to be a star
athlete to be a coach. We'll tell you everything you need to
know in the Coach Training Manual. And when you're on
the field and need to reference a skill or small group question,
your handy Coach Pocket Guide provides the answers!
Both of these are included inside every Coach Kit.
Zone Leader The Zone leader takes charge and coordinates
all activities during large group meeting times. A lot happens
during this favorite gathering. There's great singing, enjoyable drama
skits about our Mission: Unstoppable kid spies, Madison and Zachary,
and the most important part of camp — the Bible lesson
of the day! Everything you need to plan and teach can be found
in the Zone Leader Guide. The Zone Praise Music CD will
provide high-energy music that the kids will love. It contains
six fun songs written expecially for High Power Soccer. The Zone
Leader Guide contains all the information.
Hospitality Coordinator The outdoor area serves as the gathering
place for parents of campers. It will be stocked with drinks
and goodies as it provides an opportunity for witness and fellowship
with new friends from the community.
And Many Others! There are plenty of other ways to serve and
participate, from working the registration tables, to marking
the field, to helping with the publicity. And don't forget your
prayer warriors — they will be a very important part of
your ministry. There's a way to get everyone in the game!
