Club Facts
Awana was first presented to a group of children at a church in Oradea in 1991. A national couple, Nelu and Corina Paul, caught this vision and carried it to churches across Romania. The Awana material was translated into the Romanian language and in 1992, there were four churches with the program.

What Clubbers Do For Fun
Sports: soccer

Food: sarmale, mamaliga and mititei (Hungarians: cold
fruit soup or goulash soup ... also thin pancake crepes
filled with jam, pudding, cottage cheese, nut mixture,
meat or cheese).

How We Celebrate Birthdays: This special day is celebrated
in the family with flowers, a small gift and maybe a
special cake. Flowers must always be present, even for men,
and they are considered a very special gift for the celebrated
person. The coming of age is celebrated when a person
reaches the age of 18, and this is usually a celebration with
family, friends, gifts and cake. The few wealthy people give
their children a birthday party at McDonald's with a “Happy
Meal” and birthday cake. This is a birthday dream for every
Romanian boy and girl.

John 3:16
“Findca atât de mult a iubit Dumnezeu lumea, ca a dat pe
singurul Lui Fiu, pentru ca oricine crede în El sa nu piara ci sa
aiba viata vecinica.”
