	PowerUPdate Auguat 6, 2006 Thanks for joining us for the latest PowerUPdate, your source for PowerUP news, tips and encouragement! PowerUPdate helps walk you through a year of motivating kids to complete handbooks. After all, PowerUP is all about getting as much of God’s Word as we can, as deep into hearts as we can, of as many children as we can. Please pass your ideas and questions on to powerup@awana.org. We’ll help you along any way we can and maybe even use your input to improve PowerUP! Things have changed at the PowerUP Web page recently. We’ve added a calendar to help you plan your PowerUP quarter by quarter — plus new program materials, helpful resources, even archived editions of the PowerUPdate! Check out www.awana.org/powerup for these new attractions and much, much more! Speaking of planning, you might be getting ready to kick off PowerUP. And you may be wondering how! You’ll find kickoff tips online, too. Training workshops, promotional materials and materials for PowerUP events are ready for your kickoff! Pay special attention to the “Get set” box of the PowerUP home page calendar. It’s there to guide you as you begin. Kickoff is a great time to introduce the PowerUP song (make sure to check out the motions video!) and the idea of completing this year’s handbook using a pacing schedule. Remember, it’s important as a leader to consider clubbers’ pace. Calculating pace is easy! Just take your start date, your end date and how many meetings are in between and divide into the number of handbook sections. Set pacing for your club and introduce it the first night.
