Parents Week
Help parents contribute to their child’s
spiritual development!
God tells parents to raise their children in the
Word so they’ll have it for all time (Deuteronomy 6:4-7).
Yet, many parents let the church assume the main role in their child’s
spiritual growth. Though changing that pattern won’t happen
overnight, the more ways we find to involve parents the better!
Download and send a parent
letter home to a mom, dad or primary caregiver. The
letter explains Pass the SALT, asks them to help their child learn
and invites parents to club the following week.
The Awana parent
brochure really helps parents get involved. Give the
brochure out either on club night or send it home with kids. Attach
church contact information to the brochure for parents to learn
about spiritual development. Parents of returning Awana kids could
even share the brochure with new parents.
Parents are critical in children’s
spiritual development—God planned it that way! As you help
boys and girls come to know, love and serve Jesus Christ, think
about how you can help parents fulfill their role in their children’s
lives.
