Greetings from the Goodrows!
Gary and Sharon were both raised in Christian homes where the name of Jesus was revered and faithful involvement in the local church was a lifestyle.
Sharon grew up as a “PK” (preacher’s kid) where her dad was a pastor for over 40 years and her mom later became the Awana secretary of their Awana program for the last 35 years. Sharon accepted the Lord Jesus as her personal Savior at the age of 14 while at BMA Camp (Bible Memory Association). She played flute in her high school marching band, which was also selected to perform at halftime of a NFL football game in New York (the temperature that day was well-below zero!).
Gary’s dad was a long-time elder and lay-preacher, while his mom was the church secretary. Gary accepted the Lord Jesus as his personal Savior at the age of 10; and as a teenager, was trained by Campus Crusade for Christ in the Evangelism and Outreach program. He would later become a counselor in the Billy Graham Crusade, and in several Leighton Ford Crusades. Gary and Sharon met at college, were married after his graduation, and began serving the Lord together in her father’s church. They have four daughters (three are married) and three grandsons.
Gary has served as Awana Commander in the local church ministry for over 33 years. He has also served on the ministry team for 3 generations of area missionaries, as well as the ministry team of the Regional Missionary. Sharon has served as Awana Sparks Director, Sparks Secretary, and a leader in T&T and Trek programs for over 33 years.
The Lord called Gary to become ordained in 2009; and after 33 years as Awana Commander and lay preacher in our community, He has called both of them to serve as Awana Missionaries to Eastern Pennsylvania in the Tri-State region, to equip churches and leaders, to evangelize and disciple children and youth through the Gospel of Christ. Their goal is to see entire families come to know, love, and serve the Lord Jesus.
As missionaries, Gary and Sharon are entirely faith-supported by individuals, churches, and businesses. They currently need to raise ministry partners to help them reach their full support. If you would consider supporting Gary and Sharon, please contact them by phone (856-981-6975), by email, or go to www.awana.org/donate and click on Support a U.S. Missionary.
Because Kids Matter to God,
