In 1989 there may have been only four Christians in Mongolia, but today there are more than 60,000 believers worshipping in hundreds of Christian churches throughout the country. Developing Mongolian church leaders is crucial at this time of rapid church growth and to ensure the continued growth and vitality of the church in Mongolia, the next generation of mature disciples of Christ needs to be raised up. That is where Awana Mongolia can help, it supports Mongolian churches by reaching kids with the incredible news of the gospel, equipping leaders with discipleship, courage, and proven training methods, and changing the lives of many who wonder if life can provide something more.
Reaching Kids in Mongolia
Although Mongolia is one of the least densely populated countries in the world; there are 826 thousand children under the age of 15, the time of life when they will be most open and receptive to the message of the gospel. Children here need the kind of Biblically solid, age-appropriate Christian materials Awana Mongolia is able to provide. Bringing kids to Christ and mentoring them along the way will raise up the next generation of Christians. Since the first club began there in 2017, the gospel of Christ has shown each child in Awana that he or she is precious to God and created especially by Him!
Every week, Awana Mongolia reaches 1,225 children with the gospel in their heart language through 44 clubs.
Equipping Leaders in Mongolia
Awana is a proven program for reaching kids with the gospel. But it disciples the rest of the church through equipping the Awana club leaders, a need particularly felt in Mongolia’s evangelical church. Each Awana program is built upon leadership that is trained to reach children, like those who use our Leader-Based Strategy (LBS) curriculum.
National missionaries, who understand the complexity of their countries, assist the churches which use the Awana program.
Changing the World in Mongolia
Other countries are not like the U.S., where kids have an array of choices for activities. When a church starts the Awana program, children have a meaningful and fun place to go as they learn about the gospel. Adults are discipled and trained to make more disciples. Awana seeks to reach more children in Mongolia with the gospel and equip more leaders there.
