SEE WHAT OTHER KIDMIN LEADERS ARE SAYING

Wess Stafford

Dr. Wess Stafford
President Emeritus, Compassion International

Kids Ministry leaders have the most strategic position in the church, a unique vantage point from which to understand the changes that are needed to serve the church’s broader mission. Yet they are often not able to wield the influence necessary to implement that change. What’s needed is a major paradigm shift, both within the KidMin leader and within church leadership. Learn from this powerful book how to go from being a director of those who faithfully nurture “the least of these” to also being a churchwide change agent who enables the transformation needed to rescue the future of your church.

Some of the most vital work of the church is done in children’s ministry. Veteran leaders Pat Cimo and Matt Markins offer practical advice to “kid min” directors for refining your own perspective on your calling, and working with other ministry partners to make your efforts more effective for the Kingdom.

Leading KidMin is a valuable resource for leaders that are interested in developing themselves as leaders first and foremost. In today’s current ministry climate where an overemphasis is placed on results, Leading KidMin leads one back to the often overlooked singularly important notion that who we are becoming as leaders in Jesus Christ is the key to flourishing ministry. This is a book rich in wisdom that you will find yourself returning to over and over again.

There is no doubt that there is a most incredible movement of the Holy Spirit in the world of Kid and Family Ministry today. As this movement of God continues what is most needed is strong and effective leadership. This book, by two of America’s finest experts in the field will not only help you refine your leadership skills but it will give you the understanding of how to influence and implement change in helping families succeed. I highly recommend this book.

ABOUT THE AUTHORS

Author Matt Markins

Matt Markins serves as the President/COO of Awana. Matt’s background in non-profit leadership has been primarily spent in the children’s ministry and mission arenas as a publisher and conference planner. Prior to his years on the Awana Global Leadership team, Matt was in leadership with Randall House Publishers where he co-founded the D6 Conference (a ministry that focuses on helping churches equip and inspire parents to join together in reaching kids with the gospel and engaging them in ongoing discipleship). He and his wife Katie have been volunteering and growing in children’s ministry for more than twenty years. As Nashville transplants, they live and play in the Chicago suburbs with their two sons tolerating dreadful winters, but soaking up refreshingly mild weather the other seven months of the year.

Author Pat Cimo

Pat Cimo has led a dynamic children’s ministry and coached children ministry leaders domestically and internationally for nearly twenty-nine years. She is currently the director of Marriage and Family Life at Willow Creek Community Church in the suburbs of Chicago, and for many years this included direct leadership and oversight with Willow’s Children’s Ministry. She has a deep passion to own the game she most wants to win: influencing and developing champions of faith. Pat and her husband Dave live in the northwest suburbs of Chicago near their two married children and four grandchildren.
