Giving Doesn't Have to be Complicated
Colorado Springs, Colorado
When a problem keeps you up at night and you’re motivated to help solve it, what’s your first move? Concerned about overflowing landfills? Maybe you cut back on plastic. If you have a heart for animals, maybe you foster a dog. You can make a real impact in your own home. But when you want to do more, it’s helpful to find a partner who shares your passion.
For Mike and Laurie Bossert, Awana is that partner.
As a family with three boys, making faith the center of their home was a top priority; the Bosserts dove in as Awana Clubs participants and leaders in the fall of 1997 and never looked back.
Connection with Awana gave Mike and Laurie a network of parents with values similar to theirs, and it helped give their boys a firm biblical foundation as they were growing up. Then, when the kids “flew the nest” Mike and Laurie realized they were in a strong place to give financially. They put their whole hearts into supporting global child discipleship so more children would be grounded in God’s Word.
You know … growing up, nobody tells us how often we’re going to be asked to give as adults, or how, when we can’t say “yes” to everything, it’s easy to feel like we’re not doing enough. We question, Am I giving to the right cause? Am I making a difference? Mike and Laurie are a great example of how to simplify it. Give to what you care about. Give to something you know makes a kingdom difference. Give with your whole heart.
To quote a coach from a popular TV show a few years back: “Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose.”
We’re honored to be part of families’ walks with the Lord, and to provide an avenue to share the Gospel with children around the world.
