Who We Are

Awana is a global, nonprofit ministry made of hard-working Christ-followers from different backgrounds, all committed to the belief that the greatest impact we can make in the world starts with kids who know, love and serve Jesus.

It’s our prayer that we reflect His teaching in the way we function as a professional organization and a team.

Focus on Outcomes

We work with intention and focus on making an impact through our mission: equipping leaders to reach children with the Gospel and engage them in lifelong discipleship.

On Mission Together

From executive leadership to curriculum developers, everyone at Awana brings unique skills and ideas, exemplifying the values that fuel our shared mission and vision.

Church Engagement

Our heartfelt belief in the church stems, in part, from our own experiences with the church. Most Awana team members are active and learning in a faith community.

Work-Life Balance

Whether it’s welcoming your kids (or pets!) to a Zoom or flexing with your schedule, Awana encourages balance so that when you’re on, you’re on — as the healthiest version of yourself.

Remote, Not Alone

The majority of Awana team members work from home, be that a condo or a camper, but we encourage and facilitate opportunities for interaction, including:

  • In-person office work available in our Chicagoland and Nashville offices.
  • Weekly all-staff video prayer call.
  • Weekly small group prayer Zoom, where team members learn about each other’s lives, both in and outside of the ministry.
  • Weekly Scripture engagement or memorization groups to sustain and deepen your spiritual health and faith.
  • Monthly all-staff Town Hall Meetings to share team and organization updates and debrief about special events.
  • Live, in-person ministry events that require “all hands on deck.”
  • Annual Christmas get-togethers, both online and in-person for those local to an office.
  • Regular meetings for individual teams or cross-disciplinary teams to energize work processes, brainstorm ideas and build relationships.

What the Team is Saying

Just want to give a shout out to Kelsey for her consistent reporting and business insights. I love the consistency, her adaptability and constant improvement to give Awana maximum insight as to what we are learning and discovering as we go. Kelsey, you make Awana so much healthier and better stewards of what God has given us.” #Craft
