Michael Handler

Mike Handler serves as chief innovation officer for Awana, as well as global vice president of Western Europe. Mike joined Awana in 2011 and served in creative, marketing and strategic communications capacities before being called into his current leadership roles. Prior to Awana, Mike served as a pastor and church planter as well as the principal of a creative agency. He is the co-author of Forming Faith and Resilient, as well as the co-founder of the Child Discipleship Forum. Mike, his wife, Erin and their four children feel so blessed to have relocated to Franklin, Tennessee from the Chicago area — but they miss Chicago food and sports.

Mike’s favorite Bible passage is Ephesians 2:4-7, ESV: But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ — by grace you have been saved — and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
