3 Things We Love About Q Place

Awana

October 3, 2014

Recently, we’ve been talking with an organization called Q Place and we’re really excited about what we’re hearing.

We think you’ll be excited too.

Q Places are groups of adults engaging their immediate community by hosting spiritual conversations. Participants are free to learn, discover, and develop their understanding of Christ at their own pace. Think: neighborhood or a workplace Bible study with a careful eye toward local mission. If life with Jesus is the destination, Q Place exists to provide guides for the journey.

We’ve gotten to know Q Place over the last few months and we’re pretty excited about what they’re doing, how they’re growing, and where God is leading them. Here are a few things we love about Q Place:

The Church: Q Place is focused on cultivating and developing the local church. That’s huge. In an age where the church can fade to the periphery, Q Place’s emphasis on the body of Christ in action is a fresh reminder that the church can be—and should be—the spiritual center of its community.

Discovery + Bible: Whether you work primarily with toddlers, elementary school students, teenagers, or adults, you get excited when “the lights go on.” That’s called “discovery.” As kids in your Awana ministry encounter God through His word, you’ve seen discovery happen. Shouldn’t discovery also be a part of their parents’ faith journey too? Q Place invites adults to discover God and His word through an innovative approach to inductive Bible study.

Conversation: Every Q Place is built on spiritual conversations. But unlike other models for conversation-based Bible studies, the conversations at a Q Place include three crucial elements that allow for great learning: guidelines that keep discussions on track, trained facilitators who cultivate a welcoming environment for discussion, and inductive resources full of terrific questions.

What does Q Place have to do with Awana? Plenty.

• A Q Place is a great opportunity to reach parents while kids are engaged in your Awana club.

• Hosting a Q Place is a great way for parents to meet other parents in their neighborhood or at the church where their kids are attending an Awana Club.

• Q Place can help your church connect the dots between children’s faith development (through Awana) and their parents’ (through Q Place).

We’d like to invite you to check out Q Place for yourself.

On October 30 in Wheaton, IL ( the Chicago metro area), Q Place is hosting a conference called VITAL. We’re giving away 2 tickets: one for you and one for a friend. If you’re interested, click here.

We hope to see you there!

If you’re not able to make it to VITAL, you can you learn more about Q Place by visiting www.QPlace.com.
