13 Verses to Encourage You
This month we’re talking about encouragement.
And we can talk a lot about leaders encouraging clubbers, churches encouraging parents, leaders encouraging leaders … but the base of our encouragement should come from God’s Word itself. The Lord talks a lot about encouragement and provides us with comforting, reassuring thoughts to remember not only as we serve Him, but also as we go about our daily lives.
13 verses about encouragement …
1. Psalm 46:1-3 – God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah
2. Psalm 56:3-4 – When I am afraid, I put my trust in You. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?
3. Isaiah 40:31 – But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
4. Isaiah 41:10 – Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
5. John 16:33 – I have said these things to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
6. Romans 15:4-5 – For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus,
7. 1 Corinthians 15:58 – Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
8. 2 Corinthians 4:1– 4 – Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not lose heart.
9. Philippians 2:1-1– So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.
10. Philippians 4:6-7 – Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
11. 1 Thessalonians 3:13 – So that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all His saints.
12. 2 Timothy 1:7 – for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.
13. 1 Peter 5:7 – Casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.
