Why I Appreciate My Leader

Linda Weddle

April 17, 2015

This is the time of year we get letters that kids have written to show appreciation to their leaders. As in other years, we thought we’d share some with you …

Thank you Miss for being my leader. I spelled your name wrong, but I have enjoyed you as my leader. Savannah

Thank you for being such a good leader. Sorry for talking or well, I mean reciting so fast! (Ha! Ha! Ha!) I hope you like your treat. I am glad I could encourage you. There is a verse about encouraging in 1 Thessalonians 5:11. That’s just what you’re doing. Carter, Montana

Thank you for being my leader. I hope you’re my leader next year. Thank you for encouraging me to keep practicing my verses. You’re a great leader. Your beautiful smile helps me to not get angry at myself when I don’t have any verses memorized. I hope you’ll never leave this Awana club. Makayla, Idaho

You are one of the best leaders I have ever had. You always help me. You are generous enough to give us prizes. You are a fair person. You never get real angry. I hope you lead T&T. Pace, Alabama

My leader is the best because he can listen to verses at once! He also gives you candy for each verse you say! I appreciate him because he is a kind leader. I also think of him as a friend and a leader, but mostly a leader. Ben, North Carolina

…I can’t believe what I have accomplished in such a short time. It is amazing what you can do with friends to help you. Thank you so much for your amazing support and friendship. Natalie, Virginia

As I was writing this letter, my family’s dog … kept on putting her head on my lap (well, at least when I was doing the rough draft anyway). Well, I just wanted you to know that I think you are a great Awana leader and I like you very much. It is so nice that you and the other leaders volunteer your time to help me and the other girls. Juliana, Florida

You are very encouraging, patient and always seem to think that we can finish our books. I’ve enjoyed being on your team. Adeline, Virginia

I think you are a good T&T leader. You help me memorize verses well. When I don’t understand the verses, you explain them to me. You do well in managing time in Handbook Time so everyone can recite verses. Thank you for making Handbook time fun. I like playing hide-and-seek and Pictionary when we have time.  Matthew, New Jersey
