In January 2015, Awana sent out a survey across its social media channels inviting Awana parents to participate in a survey. The goal of the survey was two-fold:
- Understand Awana parents and how they engage regularly with their kids and encourage their relationship with God
- Learn how we can best serve Awana parents
We had several hundred parents participate, and it gave us some great data.
Here are some of our key takeaways:
- Awana parents own their role as the primary spiritual influence in their children’s lives.
- Awana parents are intentional and incorporate practices that build a strong foundation of family faith.
- Awana Parents are hard on themselves. They are doing a great job but still see a lot more they could be doing. Encouragement and coaching would be welcomed and most Awana Parents are open to receiving these things from their church.
If you have any other suggestions for insight into Awana parents, let us know in the comments.
