Has Your Child Trusted Christ?

Has your child trusted Christ as Savior?

Right away some of you are saying, “Sure. I remember the night. We were sitting at the dinner table and … “

Or you might say, “We’ve talked about it many times, but she’s still resisting. Please pray for my daughter.”

But maybe you’re a dad or mom who doesn’t know whether your child has trusted Christ.

You assume she has. After all, you’ve been taking her to church since she was three weeks old. She attends all the kid classes on Sunday and goes to Awana. Plus you sent her to that Christian day camp last summer. How could she not be a Christian?”

Well … being a Christian doesn’t happen by ..

… being surrounded by other Christians.

… hearing the gospel message 114 times.

… learning a year’s worth of verses for Awana.

A child’s eternal destiny is too important to rely on “spiritual osmosis” or to leave it to chance or to assume that the teacher/leader at church explained the gospel with such clarity that your child trusted Christ (but didn’t bother telling you).

Think about it.

We do everything we can to make sure our child gets a great education.

We regularly take our kids to the dentist and the doctors to assure they’re in good physical health.

We sacrifice so they can take music lessons or be part of a sports team.

But our child’s spiritual condition? Sometimes we pay no attention to that at all or figure it’s someone else’s responsibility.

Let’s get serious about our child’s spiritual health.

1 Corinthians 15:3-4 explains the gospel: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.

Has your child trusted Christ?
