Awana

November 18, 2015

This time of year it seems that people fall into one of two categories (pun intended). Those who love Fall and those who can’t stand the season. You lovers of Fall with your pumpkin everything will easily embrace this list and it’d be great if you’d share some additional ideas. I’m sure you have them. If you’re not a fan of Fall maybe this list will help you shift your mindset and find some things to be thankful for this Fall.

Why is it important to be thankful?

In the King James version of the Bible

  • The word thanks appears 73 times
  • The word thanksgiving appears 28 times
  • The word thank appears 27 times
  • The word thanked appears 3 times
  • The word thankful appears 3 times
  • The word thanksgivings appears 2 times
  • The word thankfulness appears 1 time
  • The word thanking appears 1 time
  • The word thankworthy appears 1 time

That’s a total of 139 times some form of “thank” is used in the Bible. God clearly asks us to be thankful.

Here’s Nine Ways to be grateful for this season:

  • Take lots of pictures
  • Eat pumpkin pancakes
  • Drink hot cider
  • Walk outside
  • Jump in leaves
  • Breathe deeply
  • Make Stew
  • Decorate with leaves
  • Bake bread

What does your family do to celebrate this time of year and show gratitude?
