Root Yourself In Jesus

Jesus was a leader of leaders.
During His ministry, He drew people to Him, spoke to their passion, and empowered them to change their world.

But Jesus is clear: Leadership flows from our relationship with Him.

In John 15:5, Jesus says, “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.” Think about that: We can do nothing without Him. Our efforts are meaningless unless we’re close with Christ.

But leaders fake it all the time.

Organizations, churches, and businesses are filled will leaders who are running on their own steam. The sad reality is that they’ll eventually run out of steam, often leaving damage in their wake. I could be guessing here, but I’ll bet you didn’t get into ministry for the short-term. You want a legacy that will last.

Jesus speaks that vision when He says, “I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit – fruit that will last” (John 15:16, NIV).

Whether connecting deeper to a community, engaging in spiritual disciplines, or developing a richer prayer life, rooting yourself in Jesus is the only way to have fruit that will last.
