Do you have general questions regarding the Puggles program? Here is a great place to start!

What is a Puggle?

In Awana, Puggle is the name of a cute baby platypus character. The curriculum sometimes refers to the two- or three-year-year old children in a Puggles program as Puggles.

What can I expect children in Puggles to learn about?

The Puggles program is based on four main themes, or precepts, from the Bible. The precepts are: God Made all Things, God Saw that it was Good, God is Love, Give Thanks. Each of these precepts is tied to specific passages of Scripture that are optional for children to memorize.

What will the children in Puggles do during their time in class?

In Puggles the children will spend eight weeks exploring each of the four main Biblical themes, or precepts, in fun and engaging activities, such as art, free play, activities, lesson time, puppets, and songs. Because children find safety in structure, the schedule for the class will stay relatively the same each week.

What can I do as a parent to encourage what my child is learning in Puggles?

Each class session, your child will have learned about an important topic related to the four precepts, or themes, of Puggles. Listen to your child’s teachers to know what they discussed, and follow up with your child soon after, asking them what they remember from class. You can use the “Puggles At Home” cards to show your child the picture they saw in class, and do fun activities to reinforce the ideas with your child.
