He Wants All Our Prayers

Do you ever feel like your prayers are so small, why bother taking them to the Lord? A sweet little four-year-old once reminded me that every prayer is important to God!

Several years back I my daughter, Meredith, would pray each night, “Lord, please let mommy’s new baby have blonde hair.” When I asked her if it mattered if it were a boy or a girl, she replied, “No, that doesn’t matter; I just want the baby to be blonde like me.” You see, everyone in our family was brown-haired, but her.

A few months later — and after many of her sweet prayers — our son arrived. With a head full of blonde hair! Meredith was elated! God had answered her prayers! It was such a beautiful reminder to me that God wants us to take our cares to Him, whether big or small. He wants them ALL! The answer may not always be exactly how we think it should be, but sometimes it is!

Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7)

Sidenote: We went on to adopt two more children, of which both had blonde hair!
