Awana Online Events Help You Hone Your Leadership Skills

When you began serving in Awana, you joined a network of loving, caring adults who are crucial in the discipleship of kids. As you strive to give your utmost to God and the children and youth in your care, we are here to help you hone your leadership skills and connect you to the larger community of Awana leaders.
You may already be familiar with the Awana Ministry Conference, often hosted by your local missionary; and even the Child Discipleship Forum, which will take place this September 22 and 23 in Franklin, Tennessee and online. But did you know Awana offers online events throughout the year on a variety of topics?
April Online Training Events
Take a look at events.awana.org for the lastest offerings. It’s not too late to sign up for today’s (April 14) online event, “Technology’s Impact on Kids: Our Response as Disciple Makers,” which runs from 4:15-5:15 p.m. (ET) and features Andy Crouch.
Andy is the author of many books and articles that explore faith, culture and the image of God in the domains of technology, power, leadership and the arts. His latest book, The Life We’re Looking For: Reclaiming Relationship in a Technological World, is available for preorder. During today’s conversation, Andy will preview his latest book and discuss his upcoming appearance at the 2022 Child Discipleship Forum.
If you are unable to attend today, you can still register for the event. A replay link will be sent to all registrants.
“Keeping Your Children’s Ministry on Mission” will be the topic of our online event April 25. While all of the tasks of children’s ministry are important, leaders can get easily distracted with the everyday work of doing ministry and lose sight of the main focus — the Gospel. Jared Kennedy, author of Keeping Your Children’s Ministry on Mission: Practical Strategies for Discipling the Next Generation, will join Melanie Hester and Jenny Smith of Awana to discuss this book, as well as practical strategies that can help all leaders right now to stay focused on discipleship over all other responsibilities.

You are not alone in your ministry; we are all in the role of discipling children and youth together. Let’s continue to grow as leaders — for today’s Church and for the the Church of 2050.
