Will you write to me? Let’s solve this together.

​​​​​I’m asking for your help to solve a problem. With all that’s happening in our world (division, confusion, aggressive secularization and beyond), I’m concerned that our kids are getting lost in the shuffle. I have a feeling you are concerned about this, too! And in the midst of the chaos, many kids are being more formed by the world than they are being formed by Jesus, the ways of His kingdom and His life-giving Word.

But as Christ’s advocates here on Earth, we can’t just sit on our hands. We need to advocate on behalf of today’s kids and inspire parents and church leaders into child discipleship action!

So, we need your help. This is urgent!

Mike Handler, my fellow Senior Leader and colleague at Awana, and I are creating some inspiring and creative resources (video, print, graphics, etc.) to encourage all of us to lift our eyes to what matters most: Our kids. And your stories and words included in these free and timely resources can inspire and mobilize more parents and churches to disciple today’s kids.

Would you mind giving some thought to the following question and replying back with your response?

How would you describe the love you have for your child (or children, grandchildren, kids you mentor, etc.)? Let me give you some prompts to get you going:

• Can you write about a memory that encapsulates your thoughts and feelings?
• Have you ever gone out of your way to express your love for your kids through a gift or an experience?
• Being more direct – what words or sentences would you use to describe how much you love your child?
• If you have a prodigal who has wandered from God, how would you describe your feelings and prayers for your son or daughter?
• Is there a favorite song you share with your child – a song that describes how you feel about one another?
• Have you ever written a poem about your love for your kids?
• What’s your prayer for your child? What do you pray for their future?
