Don’t Let Your Spring Events Sneak Up On You

Before you know it the Awana Clubs ministry year will be over! Plan now for the spring events your club runs; they will be here before you realize it. Here are four to keep in mind:
Valentine’s Day: An Opportunity to Encourage Others
We all can use an extra dose of encouragement, token of appreciation or affirmation that we are doing well, especially in this pandemic season. Valentine’s Day is the perfect opportunity to remind your leaders, parents or students they are loved and appreciated. Organize a Valentine’s theme night and swing over to the Awana store for some simple Valentine’s Day gift ideas. A little positive recognition goes a long way.
Awana Grand Prix for Fun and Outreach
Awana Grand Prix is a beloved event. The thrill of decorating cars and racing brings a sense of friendly competition between peers. Whether your Awana club is meeting in person or virtually — or even gathering for a time of fellowship — Grand Prix provides an opportunity for kids and families to participate and can be a fun and engaging outreach event for your church. Check out these tips to make your event successful and safe.
Training Events: Strengthen Your Ability to Disciple
As partners in ministry, we all have the same goal: reaching kids with the Gospel to engage them in lifelong discipleship. Throughout the year, Awana corporate staff, field staff and team members host a variety of virtual events for training and equipping leaders and volunteers to meet that goal. You can find upcoming events on the Awana website.
Awards and the Importance of Belonging
A child’s sense of belonging is essential to their faith journey. That makes the fellowship and fun of an Awana awards night now more important than ever. Awards are more than physical objects; they are a fun way to recognize the spiritual growth and hard work a child has experienced throughout the year. Don’t leave awards season and a child’s experience of accomplishment on the back burner. Plan ahead and place your order early to ensure you have everything you want when you need it.
As you continue to plan and build out the vision for children’s ministry this winter and spring, our prayer is you are encouraged and reminded that you are a light in the lives of the children and families you invest in at your church. Remember your events provide a time of community, an opportunity to disciple kids in your club and a sense of belonging for children that is critical to their spritual development.
Thank you for continuing to show up, serve and care for your local church.
