Summary
At our ministry, we are passionate about forming lasting faith in every child, everywhere! As the Data & Reporting Specialist, you will play an important role in furthering our mission by turning donor and fundraising data into clear, accurate, and useful information for decision making. This role builds and stewards recurring reports, data analysis, forecasting, and data structure across donors, Major Gift Officers (MGOs), and campaigns.
In this role you will collaborate with team members across the ministry to ensure integrity of fundraising metrics and definitions. You will also serve as the primary Salesforce data and reporting expert within the Development team while collaborating with our Technology team for technical system administration.

Hiring Range for this position is: $55,000 – $65,000
This full-time position is primarily remote with occasional travel required for strategic meetings, typically in St. Charles, IL or Nashville, TN.

Key Responsibilities:
Reporting & Analysis
- Produce recurring reports for fundraising performance and leadership needs
- Analyze data to identify trends, insights and opportunities
- Help explain what the data is saying and why it matters
Forecasting & Planning
- Build forecasts and projections for campaigns and revenue planning
- Support scenario planning and goal setting with data
Data Accuracy & Structure
- Maintain clean and consistent data across donors, MGOs and campaigns
- Ensure data structure supports reporting, segmentation and analysis
- Identify and help resolve data issues before they become problems
Salesforce (CRM) Responsibility
- Serve as the Salesforce (our CRM) expert for the development team
- Partner with IT on Salesforce updates, changes and improvements
- Translate fundraising team needs into clear system requirements
Metrics & Definitions
- Build and steward metric definitions and reporting standards
- Ensure consistency and clarity across all reports and dashboards
- Act as the source of truth for fundraising data
Organizational Stewardship
- Uphold and demonstrate the Awana cultural values in all internal and external communications and relationships.
- Contribute to special projects, initiatives and evolving ministry needs.
- Embrace opportunities for professional development in order to hone your craft and expertise.
What You Need:
- Bachelor’s degree required ideally with a concentration in business, data analytics, statistics, computer science, mathematics or similar from an accredited college or university.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in data analysis and reporting, ideally in a non-profit environment
- Hands on experience extracting data from a CRM platform, ideally Salesforce
- Proficiency utilizing Google Sheets and spreadsheet formulas for data collection, manipulation, visualization and collaboration
- Experience building reports, dashboards and forecasts
- Comfort working with large data sets and donor data
- Ability to spot data issues and improve structure and consistency
- Strong attention to detail and follow through
- Occasional local and out-of-town, overnight travel may be required.
- General understanding of the Bible and the Christian Church in its various expressions preferred.
- Experience with Awana Club, curriculum, resources, & solutions is a plus!
- Valid State driver’s license required.
- Eligibility to work in the United States is required; this position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.
Spiritual Life
Must be a born-again Christian. Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Must be in agreement with the Awana Doctrinal Statement. Must be in fellowship with the body of Christ through a local church. Regularly engages in reading the Holy Bible as a guide and standard for living.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to communicate. The team member is also required to regularly utilize computer equipment (e.g., screens and keyboards) to perform work. Awana recommends maintaining ergonomic posture, utilizing properly positioned computer equipment to minimize strain, and taking regular breaks to stretch and move around. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision for prolonged periods. Local and out-of-town, overnight travel may be required.
