Summary

At our ministry, we are passionate about forming lasting faith in every child, everywhere!  As the Integrated Fundraising Manager, you will play an important role in furthering our mission by planning and executing fundraising campaigns that generate revenue to support the mission of Awana.

In this role, you will build and steward the fundraising calendar, email and direct mail appeals, donation page content and campaign performance.  You will focus on fundraising execution and results. You will be accountable for revenue, response and conversion, and will work closely with teams responsible for data, creative and donor experience to improve fundraising performance.

Hiring Range for this position is:  $65,000 – $75,000

This full-time position is primarily remote with occasional travel required for strategic meetings, typically in St. Charles, IL or Nashville, TN.

Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising Strategy & Planning

  • Build and manage the annual fundraising calendar
  • Plan seasonal and campaign-based fundraising efforts with clear goals and timelines

Fundraising Execution

  • Execute email fundraising campaigns from concept through send to drive new donor and revenue growth
  • Lead direct mail fundraising efforts in partnership with internal and external partners to increase response and retention
  • Ensure campaigns launch on time and align with revenue, acquisition and retention  goals

Fundraising Writing & Messaging

  • Write and edit donor-focused fundraising copy for emails, letters and donation pages
  • Ensure messaging is clear, compelling and designed to drive response and gifts

Donation Pages & Conversion

  • Guide and steward donation page content and structure
  • Partner with IT and data teams to improve conversion rates and average gift

Project Management

  • Manage timelines, briefs, reviews and approvals for fundraising campaigns
  • Coordinate with creative, technology and operations teams to deliver campaigns efficiently

Performance & Revenue Responsibility

  • Be primarily responsible for revenue results for the general donor file
  • Monitor campaign performance and make adjustments based on results
  • Use data and testing to improve fundraising outcomes over time

Organizational Stewardship

  • Uphold and demonstrate the Awana cultural values in all internal and external communications and relationships.
  • Contribute to special projects, initiatives and evolving ministry needs.
  • Embrace opportunities for professional development in order to hone your craft and expertise.

What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, ideally with a concentration in marketing, public relations, business, or similar from an accredited college or university.
  • At least 5 years of experience in in nonprofit fundraising, annual fund or digital fundraising required
  • Proven experience executing email and direct mail fundraising campaigns
  • Strong fundraising writing skills with a focus on conversion
  • Excellent and persuasive writing skills
  • Experience working with donation pages and online giving forms
  • Comfort being accountable to revenue and performance metrics
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and keep campaigns moving
  • Working knowledge of fundraising data and reporting
  • Occasional local and out-of-town, overnight travel may be required.
  • General understanding of the Bible and the Christian Church in its various expressions preferred.
  • Experience with Awana Club, curriculum, resources, & solutions is a plus!
  • Valid State driver’s license required.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States is required; this position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.

Spiritual Life

Must be a born-again Christian. Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Must be in agreement with the Awana Doctrinal Statement. Must be in fellowship with the body of Christ through a local church. Regularly engages in reading the Holy Bible as a guide and standard for living.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to communicate. The team member is also required to regularly utilize computer equipment (e.g., screens and keyboards) to perform work. Awana recommends maintaining ergonomic posture, utilizing properly positioned computer equipment to minimize strain, and taking regular breaks to stretch and move around. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision for prolonged periods. Local and out-of-town, overnight travel may be required.
