5 Fun Ways to Celebrate the Resurrection This Easter

Easter is around the corner, and we are excited for one of the greatest times in Christianity. Whether you are leading your Awana club or children’s church, or helping your children’s director collect creative ideas, we have pulled together some of our favorite activities to help make the holiday in children’s ministry extra special and meaningful.
Easter Eggs Object Lesson
This fun Easter object lesson uses the basic colors of Easter eggs to share six things about Jesus and the Gospel story during and after an Easter egg hunt! This is a great way to engage kids in a craft while they thank God for sending Jesus and are reminded that we can be forgiven and resurrected from sin and hopelessness. Learn more about the craft.
Easter Story Snack Mix
We all enjoy snack time! For this Easter and spring-centric activity, each item in this Easter Story Snack Mix represents an important part of Christ’s life and the life of a Christian. Read about this simple snack and teaching moment that will leave a lasting impact on children.
Resurrection Rolls – Lesson and Verse Application
Easter is a easy time to invite your neighbors, co-workers and other families in your community to church to celebrate the risen King. Perhaps you are planning to host a brunch or lunch after the service. Check out the recipe: Empty Tomb Rolls. They are a great way to symbolize the empty tomb while your little one assists you in the kitchen.
The SWEET Truth of Easter
The Easter story shows the love of Christ; and as children’s ministry leaders, we love sharing that SWEET truth with children and tying it to a snack. We recently came across Ministry-to-Children’s “The SWEET Truth of Easter” poem. This free printable is a simple guide to give children on Easter. Or you could use the poem for a children’s sermon or object talk about the Gospel.
Easter Egg Hunt
Hosting a community Easter egg hunt is a fun way to reach families in your neighborhood. Allocate prizes for secret treasures hidden in select eggs. For prize or Easter basket gift ideas, we have you covered. Hop on over to the Awana Store to shop our favorite items for the holiday.
However you are ministering to children and your community this Easter, we pray you have an impactful season. Comment below to share what ideas you will be using in your Awana club or children’s church.
