Who First Introduced You to Jesus?

When the world first went into lockdown earlier this year, many scrambled to find purpose. Did you know the purpose you fulfill as a kidmin leader is making the longest-lasting impact? This week we asked our friends who first told them about Jesus. Their answers make this clear: The resilient discipleship of loving and caring adults —like you—in the lives of kids grows stronger over the years and impacts how they, in turn, lead and raise children of their own.
Throughout everything 2020 has thrown at you, thank you for being there for families when they need you most. Some day—perhaps even today—believers will say these words about you!
Who first introduced you to Jesus?
My sweet Mama! One day she felt God asking her whether or not she would raise her children to know the love of Jesus. She made a commitment to Him that day! Her faith, her prayers and the way she exemplifies what it means to be a “woman of God” are the reasons any of us clowns have faith! Thank you, Mama. I love you <3. Taylor K.
Miss Jewel. She was my Sparkie leader and introduced me to the love of Christ and His glorious Gospel when I was 7 years old. Hunter W.
The teacher at Cubbies! I went home and prayed with my mom. Now I’m teaching Sparkies, and my Cubbie and Sparky kiddos have accepted Christ through Awana as well! amy.bench
Club leaders at Awana, actually. … those adults were also my Sunday school teachers; but when they all were heroes during Awana, I saw them in a whole other light. handsonsuccess
My mom. She loved God and His word. Annemarie S.
I was in church when I was 3 days old! I accepted Jesus when I was 7 and a children’s evangelist visited my grandparents’ church for a multi-day event, and they invited me to go. Dee W.
My great-grandmother and Billy Graham! She used to watch all of his televised crusades and had me watch with her. Dawn G.
My parents. Nancy F.
My neighbor invited me to Awana in 4th grade and introduced me to Jesus. Jennifer M.

I was 9 years old, and we were at my friend/Awana leader, Laura, and her family’s house for a Bible study. Laura asked me if I wanted to know the Lord; so we went in her room and I prayed and asked God to save me that night. pittman_sarah
